Renata Ávila
CEO of the Open Knowledge Foundation
A law graduate, she is an international lawyer and author. She has nearly 20 years of experience in access to knowledge, freedom of expression, policymaking and global digital rights. She is currently CEO of the Open Knowledge Foundation and is affiliated with the Stanford HAI (Stanford HAI). In addition, she is a member of the Global Board of Directors of the Digital Future Society (DFS).
She is also a board member of Open Future and the Whistleblower Network Germany, as well as an advisory board member of Creative Commons, among other affiliations to a broad professional network spanning Europe, Latin America and North America.
She is co-founder of Alliance for Inclusive Algorithms, Progressive International and Polylat, an international cooperative platform for knowledge workers.
